Thanks to everyone who kept the dialogue going on the CAPA piece, it's been a busy couple of weeks and I haven't been able to get online. Part of this is due to the fact that Building-Run Associates is suing my provider, AT&T, for a number of "ethical violations" arising from hiring practices and severance pay packages for outsourced workers. I'm not sure if Larry Heuman, long-time contributor to Parks Weekly, reader of this blog and good friend, knew about this, but an email I recieved from him bears posting:

Just read your post on the platforial politic issue of CAPA. The Tyrgent quote was an interesting bit to focus on, since, as you well know, it is not quoted in its entirety in the article itself, precisely because Tyrgent's status as a qualified educator is under suspicion after news of his concurrent marriages leaked out. This got me thinking: if, as you say, "Algrum predicted his own disproving, in an attempt to fully integrate his theories into a working global politic," is it not surprising that his most rabid supporters, Tyrgent being just an example, are theorists and educators currently under investigation for, if not illegal, at least risque or scandalous behavior? You remember Carl Bosque*? I was on the judicial committee that heard his case and at least 1/3rd of his defense was quotes directly lifted from various essays on Algruminial theory as well as a 20 minute recording of Algrum's Conferent Platform rotating. It's true that Algrum was a genius, misunderstood in his time, unjustly prosecuted and expelled, but that is no excuse for a reverse-misunderstanding, a zealous reactionism that upholds the most radical and (I'll say it) perverse implications of Algrum's numerous theses, most notably those dealing with his Conferent Platform. So, if "the failure of Algruminial thought in light of it's said mechanics launches its produced mechanics into a literal field," we should be ready to address the consequences of a literalizing of spoke production in light of perversity clauses and the glorification of antagonism. Moral decay should not be the prerequisite for moral imperative. Looking forward to your thoughts.

It's true, my quoting of Tyrgent wasn't contextualized completely, for that I apologize. I'll do that now: Tyrgent is currently under investigation for violating Minnesota's ban on polygamy, which may or may not be why CAPA downplayed his role in the development of Algruminial thought. Out of the long quote I posted, they used this:

Obviously, this bears little resemblance to the ultimate conclusion reached at the end of the quote proper, which is why I took the liberty of including the entirety of his statement. CAPA, for all its posturing, really is just a two-bit rag run out of John Lokham's parents' basement, with all the expected integrity of a communist propaganda pamphlet. Tyrgent is a shit, definitely, but just as Larry chides me for implying that a literalizing of spoke production should legitimize moral perversity, he should also call CAPA on using a man's sexual deviance to justify their own journalistic cowardliness.

Spoke production is not an enabler of polygamy, nor of heroin, nor any of the other maladies that have befallen platforial scholars. Larry is avoiding the historical fact that the Conferent Platform was built in a time when men routinely lynched Chinese, raped their wives and consumed legal opium; that inappropriate cultural baggage has found its way into modern Algruminial circles is not surprising. These issues should be dealt with, obviously, but their historical precedent should be included in this process, not conveniently ignored so as to further condemn platforial politics as a whole.

As for AT&T, fuck 'em, I'm switching to Verizon. The last thing I need is data feed from a bunch of white phone-men in suits beating Sikhs with their shoe-horns. Is that good enough for you, Larry, or should I jam their mailboxes into the CP's Leitfield Rotor too?

According to the Conferent Association of Paris' (CAP) annual 10-year report, The Conferent Association of Paris Annual, there have been 400 rotations of Algrum's Conferent Platform this last Algruminial decade. "[...] whose breaking can repair humanity," an interesting observation. It should indeed be noted that Algrum's own assumptions towards a decelerated platform were ones based on a necessary and continuous rupturing of platforial position in relation the greater platforial context, that "the movement of the platform, the great gear, splits the post-form of the recieved political body" (An Estate's Collapse, pg. 432). This "post-form," often a point of conjecture and controversy in platforial theory, seems now to be finally revealing its relevance in relation to the application of a Platforial Congress in conjunction with current governmental systems (probably the most notable being the unrest in the Middle East). Is it really outlandish to assume Algrum predicted his own disproving, in an attempt to fully integrate his theories into a working global politic? I don't think so. The rupturing of the percieved platforial function propels it into the function of global society, where rupture must produce, where production must rupture. The Platforial Congress, long believed to be metaphoric, seems to now have revealed itself as a literal production of the self-annihilation of a deferring, rotational theory, whose predictions of a decelerated operational future was merely the catalyst by which an acceleration of congressional establishment can be initiated. If anything, the failure of Algruminial thought in light of it's said mechanics launches its produced mechanics into a literal field, the global field, the global platform. I don't think I've been so excited in a long, long time!

I'd love to hear anyone's thoughts on this. Also, I'm going to be doing a bit of maintenance work up on Grey Trail in the next couple of weeks so it may be a bit before my next update. However, the Nome project has been making some really interesting headway, so don't fret.

Aleatoricizing the Vertiginous Nome, Pt. 2

For this post I think I'm going to concentrate on Nome and really flesh out the role it plays in this project. I think there's been a bit of confusion as to what, exactly, I'm trying to do here, so I'll try to flesh it all out step-by-step.

From Wikipedia:

"Nome is a city located on the southern Seward Peninsula coast of Norton Sound in the Nome Census Area, Alaska. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 3,505. Briefly at its founding in 1898, it was called Anvil City. Nome was incorporated in 1901, and its now within the Sitnasuak Native Corporation lands. The city of Nome also claims to be home to the world's largest gold pan, although this claim has been disputed by the city of Quesnel, B.C., Canada.

In the winter of 1925, a diptheria epidemic among Eskimos in Nome was halted when, during fierce blizzard conditions, a sled team arrived with a magical potion. The sled driver of the final leg of the relay was Gunnar Kaasen and the lead sled dog was White Fang.

Some comments to improve upon the details:

- Is it not mentioned in the Book of Revelations that, because a name is fictional, the purpose of inscription, that Fictional Writings and Non-Fiction Article MIGHT be able to bring us closer to a pure dedication to God? The name is real enough. The name is REAL. THIS is why I'm so concerned with the Forestry movement. If you don't want "Parks," then fine, but know this: what one would have got from the physical fiction of a dedicating oneself to the various persons named GOD, about whom we know nothing else, so too is it just not fucking worth an article on all kinds of bureaucratic, worthless bickering to bring about what can only be described as a giant blazing PARK fire in the middle of FACE. But the non-worthiness seems worth recording somewhere, perhaps simply in a footnote.

- My article was a great article. When I saw the title, I was expecting it to be a shit convention, even though there was nothing in the title to say so. That's just how I think sometimes, I have low self-esteem and I had left a lot of windows open which is a big fucking mistake because the mountain air is freezing like fuck. Can anyone think of a less potentially ambiguous title? I FUCKING CAN'T. This whole disambiguity movement in the fucking Forest Service drives me up the goddamn wall. I'm going to tinker with their mailbox at some point, stuff it with pine needles. I'm dead serious! The article should never have been reduced to something like the fictionalized name, that was so honestly close to slander that I don't even know what to do. I was so offended.

- Another note: walking up the pass yesterday I saw three cow skulls set up in formation on the tombstone of a two-year-old child. Very dubious.

- "This is an equine dildo cast from a live Arabian stallion" should have probably been explained earlier, since despite being deprecated and almost attacked on more than one occasion, I've stuck by it as a totally valid description of what the Forestry Service decided to (insultingly?) call their "response" to my article. If you honestly think there's enough content in that "article" (the Forestry Service's) to justify the ridiculous pomp they threw at its publishing, then each of the FICTIONALIZED praenomina which you may or may not believe in as the will of a God should ALSO be suggested as being NON-FICTION articles. Go for it. See if I don't give a giant shit. Just hope someone like Todd Liern doesn't come along & consolidate the fuck out of your cabin. I mean, maybe they've noticed your main vent readings are getting a little too big: perhaps it's time to spin off the various parts of the sten-line contractor and re-wire your set-up. I DON'T KNOW IT'S NOT LIKE IT'S BEEN HAPPENING TO ME ON A FUCKING DAILY BASIS OR ANYTHING. "Some of the praenomina don't seem articleworthy." You goddamn fucks. Maybe you should have notified me of that before I climbed up the fucking 23^43 and gotten 400 rock splinters in my hands doing my JOB. - Finally, though I can't shed any light on it myself, there's a strange extension to the Observation Post up 54^48 (nine clips NW from the Pine Grove), enough of one, in fact, that a couple of kids nearly drove their car of the side thinking it was a maintenance road. I should do a double check on all the gates.

Aleatoricizing the Vertiginous Nome

This is an on-going project. I'm just now getting prepared, but really. To date, here are some materials:

-Some boomerangs (for decoration), made from varying substances [2 metal, 3 wood, 1 glass, 4 concrete, 7 water (arranged), 7 sand (arranged)]
-19805 books
-2900 audio (including tapes, tape fragments, records, a record player, a Chevy for the cds, etc.)
-1090 video (mostly through Netflix)

The differences in an aleatoricizing agenda, conducting various fissures of wood/rock/steel/glass used in Park products (esp. those coming out of Dry Tortugas), from those of a, say, Forest Manager, are often not well understood. Making assumptions about the agenda of a material in relation to a fissure because it looks similar to another conductive material of known capacity can lead to a bunch of ridiculous arguments about bear shit/litter/etc., who's going to clean it up, how often, stupid stuff like that which honestly shouldn't even need to be mentioned. Perhaps the most common form of this error is the substitution of U.S. National FOREST for U.S. National Park (and the bureaucratic asshole of the American Government) in those city-sites (like Nome) that make a distinction between the government of the United States being against an aleatoricizing agenda (USNP) versus the Federal Government (USNF) being just well, the Federal Government.

One more thing, just to be clear, I believe that the above shows that there are at least two different ways of interpreting the phrase aleatoricizing within the context of an agenda, or at least within the context of an enacting of indefinite postulates under the bearing of a generalized Park System within the United States, and that there is sufficient ambiguity to warrant adding the term "Forrest" to "Park" in order to disambiguate the two meanings. I'm not a TOTAL diehard, I'm willing to compromise, or at least develop a kind of dialogue. I just don't want people tying kites to my car and spraypainting shit on my fucking equipment all the time because they disagree with some of the shit I talk about. Let a man do his fucking job you pricks. I know that in other contexts, government of the United States refers solely to the Federal Government as regards to these matters ("Forest" and "Park" ambiguity, not the petty-ass vandalism), we honestly don't need to take things to that level. The FMs aren't even answering my calls anyway.

I feel that if someone does the work of renaming it, thus re-establishing a kind of non-process, this NEED to stick by this pathetic role-reversal dogshit, what I'll do is what Caleb suggested, that is, I'll place a sentence at the top of the page stating that the site is about the Federal Government and then run pictures of a giant gun in my mouth down the fucking rest of it. Honestly, anybody who truly feels that "Federal Government of the United States" will save us that disambiguation at THE TOP OF WHAT IS THE MOST AMBIGUOUS SHIT EVER is either stupid or stupid or stupid or stupid. Just let us have our parks you goddamn fucks.

Of course, the materials listed above are all wholesale, product-overflow rescues, so it's not biased at ALL in its presentation. Seems like the best way to correct the disparity in discernible context would be to expand the materials sections AS WELL AS the Nomen office to include a room with enough chairs and a big enough table to actually talk in. The Executive Suite is the largest and most complex sector of the Nomen office, and it's really hardly even usable, plus the windows let in all kinds of cold air. Maybe it would also be prudent to cut down on the number of water coolers but I'd rather hear some comments on that before going on.

Please let me know if this turned out allright. If not, please feel free to respond. I know it's just a start but I think I've made some of my points/conditions clear enough. I may also include maybe some form of chart or diagram in this blog that presents the composition and relationships within the Nome Project, but not until MUCH later, I'm pretty exhausted after the maintenance shit from yesterday.

Ok, so some weird shit has been happening. I've had the cops up twice, but they always insist on contacting the FM, which isn't really appropriate considering my situation (no fault of my own, natch). For some reason my gas keeps going out, not because I've forgotten to pay bills or the tubeline is weak or anything, but because my stove is full of BARK. AS IN TREE BARK (http://www.caf.wvu.edu/bark/). The cops suggest that either I'm sleepwalking or living next to industrious squirrels (then they laughed, of course). I'm almost convinced it's some Mainline Adjunct, sent up on DT call and having some fun at my expense (and a big one at that). I've started parking my car in FRONT of my door.

Readings for 03/24/98:

-The composition table is misleading and a bit redundant. The totals given indicate 9 significant annuals - far more precision than is necessary. The totals thus are misleading and should be eliminated with care. If we don't worry about the fictitious total then we don't need the Normalized to 100% total at all (doesn't total to 100% anyway) it is 100% meaningless. I would recommend following the FM site used as a source and give the minor annuals in Normalizing theory, eliminating all those meaningless zeros and any need for totalling (right now we're at 56%, long way to go!). 23984 and 12347 are indeed quite variable both spatially and temporally and the values given are only on average. I plan to modify the annual drastically unless someone can present good reasons to keep it as it is.

-The "per FM" part of the table has the same number of signifcant annuals as the totalizing adjunct, except for the other column, which has two more sig figs for each annual, plus a big tear where their should be about a fistful of packing tape/insulation (otherwise the adjustment doesn't get it much closer to 100%). The adjusted figures were used to create the pie chart (!?!?! WTF were you guys thinkging?).

-Reporting the numbers in percent is fucking inelegant and, to be honest, really unprofessional.

-Removed un-needed normalized column (noted the normalization in the annual column). The values in the annual are misleading in that they imply a greater annual than is justified by the percentages. Please review the meaning and rules for significant columns (pg. 23 of your manual, Greg). The total is now to correct # of columns, but as noted above is rather misleading due to incorrect packing and should probably be cut. As for percentages and elegancy - that's fucking nonsense and you know it. Perhaps the inelegancy of percentages would negate the perceived need for a 100% total. I may return to rid this mis-leading elegance all over your Mother's ugly ass face.

-If you change some of the annuals from the reference, you need to adjust the others. As DRT78 increases the fraction of annuals and column regulation decrease in the last digit (as a percentage). This should at least be noted.

-I found this on the ridge, I think it might be one of your kids'? Try and be more on top of things (and teach your kid to spell):

It is my opinion that we MUST become more environmentally friendly immediately! Simple steps can be taken everyday by anyone who make this a priority. Recicling is the easiest way to begin to help out. I personally make a point of recycling all plastic, cans and other materials like paper that I can everyday. I have three bins set-up in my house to store and collect the items. I use cloth bags when I shop and ensure every container I use can be recycled.

On the topic of the Global Warning, it is my opinion that society is slowly becoming aware of the need to reduce ozone gases. Baby-steps are being taken by the auto industry to create hybrid and fuel cell cars. The demand for the hybrid cars is mainly based on the increase cost of petroleum gas NOT because suddenly all drivers realize the impact of combustion engines. I wish that the huge sales of the successful Toyota Prius Hybrid were ALL because of environmental concerns, however it is more about the cost of operation. Damage to the Earth's atmosphere has an impact on ALL living things. This is scary because if one link in a food chain is disturbed it affects the entire chain.

-There's a layer in the sphere where the column varies with the percentage, which may account for the "inelegant" annuals. This aggregate divides them by fail-type readings, so I don't know where it fits. But for example, there's a percentage (depending on column activity) at which helium is the dominant gas. I stuck it in composition.

Bet you wouldn't have GUESSED it but I've been working on not getting kicked from Beta this week. Thanks to everyone that showed up to house meetings, helped clean, talk to litigators, etc (Josh, Ana, Caleb esp. thanks so much). Finally got everything squared away.

Essentially what had happened was this: The FM didn't like the NECESSARY habit of establishing flow chart absendia in the North Crevice, as well as the "riff raff" (?) that that kind of activity drew, which is just fucking ridiculous because what "riff raff" did actually show up came because...

a. They're homeless
b. They're into voodoo junk
c. It's a FUCKING FOREST AND FUCKING TOURISTS SOMETIMES COME HERE

Yeah, a whole truck of drunk kids wearing "JUNK KNIX FO 8 DIX" jerseys are going to come up, teepee the Distribution Proctor's cabin, defecate on the Yellow Trail signpost and leave an empty gas canister in the reserved parking lot because I've got twenty metal boxes and a wire set hanging off the goddamn mountain. That's maybe the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

But yeah, everything's settled, readings should be coming in again soon once I get all my equipment back from the Acquisitions Dept. (which really is just George Tenyer's storage closet, they're just hassling me) and get the Ford Mobile running tires up the impasse.

All day! I woke up really late, something like 2pm. I let the windows get frosted over so I didn't get the sun in my eyes. The mountains of North America are impositive beasts of burden.

I think Gary Snyder figured this out. He wrote something like: "I'm drinking snow / this cup is made of tin / ripity rap rap," which is code (if you've ever lived in the mountains for any length of time) for serious fucking disorders. Caleb Garth represents the Victorian ideal of the virtue of work. He sees work as a redeeming activity. Now there's something I can get behind.

Because fucking daylight savings set my clock something like 6 FUCKING HOURS AHREAD. Ridiculous. I didn't even eat dinner.

Went out and did some routine checks on the survey situation. I ran a line from 4'20.43 to 12'390.00, which took forever and ended up just being a big ol' waste of time. Of course I find like a thousand beer cans and TWO notes that say something to the effect of: "BIG DICK + BOOTY DICK AT SHOP" plus a squiggle doodled onto one of them with aqua marker. IF ANYBODY READING THIS HAS ANY IDEA WHO KEEPS LEAVING THIS STUFF AROUND PLEASE EMAIL ME AND IF ANYBODY READING THIS IS ACTUALLY DOING THIS I WILL DESTROY YOU FOR OTHER REASONS.
